ALEDA serves as the mechanism where the county, city and the private sector work together for economic development in Albert Lea and Freeborn County. We are made up of the Albert Lea Port Authority and Greater Jobs, Inc. We are also home to the Albert Lea Business Development Center (ALBDC). We work with large businesses who want to locate their operations here, providing assistance and incentives as well as sourcing land or buildings for them. Through our not-for-profit organizations, we have build more than 20 spec buildings and developed five industrial parks. We also work with small businesses and entrepreneurs.  Through our programs, we are able to provide resources to grow and develop the small business community in Freeborn County. Our organizations are separate from the city and county. However, we work closely with them to provide the information and incentives that will help bring business here.

Our mission: “To provide and promote services and resources to retain, expand, create and attract businesses, increase tax base and quality employment opportunities in Freeborn County.”
