More about TIger Cage

Tiger Cage is an entrepreneur start-up competition designed to spur entrepreneurial activity in Albert Lea and Freeborn County. Business concepts eligible for the competition are: new businesses, significant expansions of an existing business, or a second or third retail or restaurant business satellite location from an existing business in another town. Tiger Cage is organized by ALEDA with assistance from a variety of other businesses, organizations, and members of the Albert Lea community.

Grand prizes will be awarded to one winner of each category. The grand prize packages will consist of a cash grant and in-kind donations of professional services. It’s up to the community to decide how much is awarded. The Tiger Cage committee is currently soliciting local businesses to help match two grants; $10,000 from the Albert Lea Business Development Center and $5,000 from Farmers State Bank. If the business community can help us reach $15,000, we’ll have a total of $30,000 cash to be divided between two deserving businesses.
